Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a Civil Engineer to design and deliver clean water or wastewater projects across the Peterborough region. You will join a collaborative team, applying UK standards to complex infrastructure, supporting full lifecycle activities from feasibility to construction.

The role requires a strong technical background, experience with relevant software, and a drive toward chartered status with ICE or IStructE. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Requires a BEng or MEng/MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum 2:1).
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete design and Eurocodes/BS standards.
• Experience designing buried pipelines and both pressure and gravity systems.
• Open channel hydraulics understanding and open-channel flow principles.
• Proficiency with software like TEDDS, Staad Pro, AutoCAD, Robot, Civil 3D or Revit.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and coordinate input from multidisciplinary teams.
• Apply British Standards and Eurocodes in design of structures and pipelines.
• Produce design sketches, review models, and contribute to CAD/modeling work.
• Ensure designs comply with health, safety and CDM requirements.
• Prepare PCI, Health and Safety Files, and Quality Assurance Files.
• Attend site surveys, document findings and mitigation plans.
• Monitor progress against time, cost and quality, reporting deviations.
