Port of Tilbury London Ltd is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to join our port operations. The role involves managing civil engineering projects in a busy, live port environment, with responsibilities spanning design, budgeting, and contractor interfaces.

You will work on quayside structures, drainage, and utilities, ensuring CDM compliance and safe operations. A civil engineering degree and UK driving licence are essential, with 2–3 years on-site experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or closely related)
• 2–3 years UK construction/civil engineering on-site experience
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of civil engineering projects from feasibility through to practical completion
• Manage project programmes and budgets (£50k–£500k)
• Coordinate with operational teams to schedule works around 24/7 port activities
• Produce/update technical drawings using AutoCAD
• Review contractor designs and method statements
