Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer to join our Glasgow team. The role focuses on delivering roads, highways, and drainage designs across development projects, with detailed reports and design coordination from feasibility to delivery.

The successful candidate will work in a collaborative consultancy environment, leveraging AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and will have opportunities for progression and increased project ownership in a growing Glasgow practice.

Qualifications

• Experience in roads, highways and drainage design for development projects.
• Background in infrastructure design for development-led schemes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Ability to manage projects and mentor junior engineers is advantageous for Senior level.

Responsibilities

• Deliver roads, highways and drainage designs across development projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings and technical reports.
• Work on road layouts, access arrangements and associated infrastructure.
• Develop foul and surface water drainage strategies and designs.
• Support S38, S278 and other highway agreements.
• Coordinate designs with clients, architects, developers and project teams.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and guidance.
• Manage project deliverables and liaise with stakeholders.
• Support junior engineers and contribute to technical reviews at Senior level.

An established civil engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer to join its growing team in Glasgow.

The Role

• Delivering roads, highways and drainage designs across a range of development projects

• Preparing detailed engineering designs, drawings and technical reports

What We're Looking For

• Experience working within a civil engineering consultancy environment

• Background in roads, highways and drainage design

• Experience delivering infrastructure designs for development-led projects

• Understanding of relevant highway and drainage design standards

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D

• Experience with drainage design software such as MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage or Causeway Flow

• Strong technical ability, attention to detail and communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively and manage project deadlines

• Experience managing projects, clients or mentoring junior engineers would be advantageous for Senior level
