Job summary

Placements24 seeks a skilled Civil Design Engineer to contribute to our Randburg-based design and planning team. You will develop detailed designs for roads, drainage and site developments, using CAD software and sound engineering principles.

This role offers a balanced office and remote work arrangement. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years in civil design, strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills, and knowledge of hydrology and municipal standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related design software.
• Strong knowledge of hydrology, earthworks and site development principles.
• Familiarity with South African municipal standards and building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed engineering designs and drawings for civil infrastructure projects using CAD software.
• Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies and design calculations for roads and drainage.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and client requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to integrate designs.
• Prepare specifications, bills of quantities and tender documentation.
• Provide design support during construction as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed engineering designs and drawings for civil infrastructure projects using CAD software.
• Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies, and design calculations for road layouts, earthworks, and stormwater systems.
• Ensure designs comply with national and local engineering standards, regulations, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, and other disciplines to integrate designs.
• Prepare technical specifications, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
• Review design work and provide technical support during the construction phase as needed.

Requirements
