Civil Engineer
Utilities - 6 month contract
We are partnering with a cradle-to-grave project delivery partner specialising in planning, commercial, and project management. Due to continued growth in their utilities department, they are seeking a Civil Engineer to support their development in Macclesfield, Manchester.
Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Lead the design of water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, treatment plants, reservoirs, and drainage systems, ensuring designs meet project specifications, standards, and client requirements.
- Site Assessments and Data Analysis: Conduct site visits, surveys, and assessments to gather data for the design process, analyzing soil conditions, topography, and environmental impacts to inform project plans.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, environmental engineers, and contractors, to ensure designs are integrated and executed efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulations, standards, and environmental guidelines, including preparing documentation for regulatory approvals.
- Project Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed design calculations, specifications, drawings, reports, and assist in tender documents, cost estimates, and proposals.
- Troubleshooting and Optimization: Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and provide solutions to design-related problems. Continuously optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering
- 3-5 years post-qualification experience
- Experience in Utilities (Gas or Water) is advantageous
- Previous design experience is desirable
