Job summary

Milton Keynes City Council is seeking a Registration Officer Citizenship and Systems to join our Registration Service. You will lead booking systems, online services and data analysis to improve access for residents, and you may lead citizenship ceremonies in line with Home Office requirements.

The role requires strong IT and systems skills, experience with databases, and the ability to present to varied audiences.

Qualifications

• IT qualification or demonstrable equivalent practical IT skills.
• Clear communication with colleagues, partners and the public.
• Knowledge of registration and citizenship legislation and practice.
• Experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
• Proactive and organised, able to prioritise changing workloads.
• Experience handling financial transactions and card/banking procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead management and development of registration booking systems, websites and self-service tools.
• Provide specialist guidance on registration services and ceremonies.
• Coordinate citizenship ceremonies and appointments per Home Office requirements.
• Manage income processes, financial records and audit records.
• Act as first point of contact for registration systems and testing.
• Supervise Ceremony Officers and support recruitment with regular meetings.
