The Holstein UK Group's Cattle Information Service (CIS) is seeking a permanent Area Manager to cover Devon and Cornwall. This home-based role travels regularly to support customers and Milk Recorders, delivering high-quality field services.
Lead and mentor a team, ensure training and health and safety compliance, manage budgets, and collaborate with the Head of Field Services to drive performance. Flexible hours, early mornings and evenings may be required.
The Holstein UK Group is a progressive and dynamic organisation, with family values at its core and a strong commitment to personal development, teamwork and delivering an excellent service to its customers.
The Cattle Information Service (CIS), part of the Holstein UK Group, is seeking a permanent Area Manager (AM) to cover the Devon and Cornwall areas.
The Area Manager will be responsible for effectively maintaining and developing existing customer relationships, while proactively identifying and generating new business opportunities across the area. A key part of the role will be leading and managing a team of employed and self-employed Milk Recorders, ensuring they are appropriately trained, supported, motivated and equipped to consistently deliver the high standard of service that CIS prides itself on.
The role also requires the Area Manager to provide practical, operational support to Milk Recorders throughout the milk recording process. This will include attending and supporting milk recording sessions when required, gaining a thorough understanding of the recording process and providing appropriate guidance, training and support to members of the team. As milk recording takes place around customers' milking routines, this will require flexibility and will involve working outside normal office hours, including early mornings and evenings where necessary.
The Area Manager will work closely with the Head of Field Services, supporting the effective management and delivery of CIS field operations and contributing to the continued development, consistency and performance of the wider service. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership, effective communication and a proactive approach to both people management and customer service.
The position is home based but requires regular travel throughout Devon and Cornwall to support customers and Milk Recorders. Flexibility in working hours is therefore an important requirement of the role.
