Job summary

Campden BRI in England is seeking a Chromatography Laboratory Operations Manager to lead the Chromatography Department, ensuring high service levels for clients and efficient resource allocation.

You will oversee equipment, manage costs, drive continuous improvements, and ensure ISO 17025 compliance, with a chemistry-related degree preferred and strong communication within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading chromatography laboratory operations and supervising coordinators.
• Extensive chromatography methods: GC-MS-TOF, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, HS-GC-MS.
• Knowledge of analytical quality requirements for contaminants and nutrition.
• Proven track record applying continuous improvement to operations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with ISO 17025 requirements.
• Science degree; chemistry degree preferred.

Chromatography Laboratory Operations Manager

We offercommercial analytical lab chemistry testing for food and drink, including: nutritionaland health, microscopy, biochemistry, allergens, chromatography, packaging, cereals and ingredients, andwines and spirits

What you’ll be doing

• To lead and manage the daily operations of the Chromatography Department
• Maintain excellent service levels for clients/members
• Support the Team Manager in efficient resource allocation
• Manage the equipment and assets of the department
• Manage costs and support the department in meeting financial metrics
• Working with co-oridnators to oversee daily chromatography laboratory operations
• Review and improve existing workflows and operational efficiency

What we’re looking for

• Experience of leading laboratory operations in a chromatography laboratory including experience in managing team supervisors / co-ordinators
• Wide experience of chromatography techniques within a food testing environment including but not limited to GC-MS-TOF, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, HS-GC-MS & GC-MS
• Understanding of the analytical and quality requirements for the analysis of contaminants and nutritional components
• Demonstrate experience in the application of continuous improvement principles to deliver operational improvements
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experienced in the requirements of the ISO 17025 standard
• Science related degree (Chemistry degree would be an advantage)
