Job summary

Marks & Spencer Plc is hiring a Customer Assistant in Operations to support stock, deliveries and behind-the-scenes work that keeps our stores running smoothly.

The role involves early morning shifts across Sundays and week days, with an unsocial hours premium for night-time hours. You’ll need to be physically capable, digitally confident, and a strong team player committed to fast, accurate stock flow. There is a +£3.00 p/h unsocial premium for hours between 22:00-06:00.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail stock control and deliveries preferred.
• Must be able to work early mornings and unsocial hours.
• Eligible to work in the UK; 18+ only.

Due to operational requirements, all successful candidates may be asked to work up to full time hours in the weeks commencing 13th and 20th December. You’ll be responsible for stock, deliveries, and all the vital behind-the-scenes work that ensures our shop floor stays full, clean, and ready for our customers to shop. There’s no room for delay. You’ll be fast, focused, and always one step ahead, keeping the flow of products moving with urgency and accuracy.

Flexibility is vital. You’ll work across the wider store where needed – always keeping up with the pace and demands of retail.

Being digitally confident is essential. You’ll use digital tools confidently to track deliveries and manage stock efficiently, always focused on availability and speed.

Being a team player is essential. You’ll be a key cog in a big machine, working across functions and supporting colleagues across the store.

Flexibility is vital. From early morning deliveries to shifting stock late into the day, you’ll adapt quickly to keep things moving.
