Job summary

Progress Housing Group is seeking an administrative professional to support its choice-based lettings service in Leyland. You will handle housing applications, verify information, assess needs and provide guidance to customers, local authorities and internal teams.

The role blends customer service, administration and problem-solving, with responsibilities that include managing applications, maintaining records and ensuring fair, efficient processing in a hybrid office-and-home setup.

  • Experience in a customer-focused administrative environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to use IT systems, including Microsoft Office, to maintain accurate records and support service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • You'll play a vital role in helping people access housing by supporting the delivery of our choice-based lettings service and ensuring applications are assessed fairly, accurately and efficiently.
  • Working with customers, local authority partners and internal teams, you'll manage housing applications, verify information, assess housing needs and provide advice and support throughout the application process.
  • You'll be the organisational lead for choice-based lettings operations, helping to ensure our service remains accessible, responsive and customer-focused while supporting service improvements and best practice.
  • You'll support reviews, appeals and mutual exchange activity, helping customers explore their housing options while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with our Allocations Policy.

  • Salary: Grade 6 (£30,242 - £31,308 per annum)
  • Contract Type: Fixed Term (12 months)
  • Working Hours: 36.25 hours per week

  • Office basis: Agile. You'll balance office-based collaboration with flexibility to work from home where business needs allow.

  • Chartered Institute of Housing qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Knowledge of housing or homelessness legislation and good practice.
  • Experience working within the social housing sector.
  • Experience contributing to projects and service improvement activities.
