As a Remote Interpreter, your main responsibility will be to facilitate communication between clients and individuals with limited English proficiency. You will work remotely, providing interpreting services via phone or video calls. Your excellent language skills will enable you to interpret conversations accurately and efficiently in various professional settings.

Please note this is a self-employed position.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between English and your native language over the phone or video calls.
• Provide interpretation services to clients with limited English proficiency.
• Interpret for legal, health, and local government services.
• Ensure the non-English speakers' understanding after each sentence.
• Perform conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting.
• Maintain confidentiality and provide impartial, accurate interpreting services.

Qualifications and Skills

• Fluent in English and another language.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Age 21 or over.
• Qualifications such as:
• Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
• Community Interpreting
• NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration (advantageous)
• Degree in Translation, Interpreting, or Languages
• Other interpreting-related qualifications
