As a Remote Interpreter, your responsibilities include facilitating communication between clients and individuals with limited English proficiency. You will work remotely, providing interpreting services over the phone or via video calls. Using your language skills, you will interpret conversations accurately and efficiently in various professional settings.

Please note: this is a self-employed position.

Requirements

The Job

• Interpreting between English and your native language via phone or video calls.
• Providing interpretation services to clients with limited English proficiency.
• Interpreting for legal, health, and local government services.
• Checking non-English speakers' understanding after each sentence.
• Conducting conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting.
• Providing accurate, confidential, and impartial interpretation.
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to the Code of Conduct.

About You

• Fluent in English and another language.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Age 21 or over.
• Relevant qualifications such as:
  • Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
  • Community Interpreting
  • NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration (advantageous)
  • Degree in Translation, Interpreting, or Languages
  • Other interpreting-related qualifications
