Fowler Welch is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for our chilled distribution operation based around Newton Abbot. You will operate refrigerated vehicles delivering to Local and Regional Distribution Centres, Farms and Packhouses across the UK.

Shifts: Friday to Tuesday Days, 05:00–07:00 starts. Benefits include fully funded CPC training and performance rewards for safe, efficient driving.

Formación

• Possession of LGV Class 1 Licence.
• Current CPC.
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
• Effectively prioritise workload to meet deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Carrying out chilled distribution deliveries to local and regional distribution centres, Farms and Packhouses.
• No requirement to self tip; stores responsible for load/unload.
• Collecting equipment or returns from customer locations and bringing them back to site.
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and update on delays or issues.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to Transport Office.
• Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects; take responsibility for unit and trailer, incl. temp checks.
• Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service.
