Job summary

Action for Children Short break services in Islington and Camden support disabled young people in their homes or in their local community. We help children to make friends, join activities, and access opportunities, while being inclusive, flexible and fun.

As a Children’s Services Worker you’ll provide direct support to children, young people and families, delivering interventions under direction to achieve positive outcomes in line with policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or equivalent required.
• Experience working in teams or individually.
• Experience with child development and planning for individual needs.
• Understand how to engage with young people and their carers.
• Good safeguarding understanding.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct family support in early help services, via digital or face-to-face contact.
• Manage a case load, record information, deliver interventions, refer families to services as needed.
• Attend and contribute to family meetings.
• Support children and families in various environments.
• Deliver techniques to help families thrive and track development.

Role:Children's Services Worker

Salary:£15.18 an hour (Inc. London waiting allowance)

Contract/Hours:Permanent – Part Time 6.5 hours a week

We currently have shifts available for candidates to work Term time Saturday club and during the school holidays.

Location:Camden & Islington - London

We support children to make and meet friends, connect with their communities, and enjoy new opportunities and experiences.

As a Children's Services Worker, you will be responsible for providing support to children, young people, and families by agreeing and directly delivering interventions, with appropriate direction, which enable positive and agreed outcomes to be achieved, in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

• Providing direct family support in the early help service, through a blend of digital or face to face contact.
• Managing a case load, record effectively, deliver an intervention, refer and Support families onto other services as required.
• Contributing to and attending family meetings.
• Support children and their families in different environments
• Support children and their families to thrive by delivering different techniques and methods.
• Tracking children's learning and development and communicate with their parents and carers.

Let's talk about you.

• NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or Equivalent.
• Experience of working as part of a team or as an individual
• Experience with child development and planning for individual child's needs.
• Understand how to engage with young people and their parents/carers.
• Good understanding of safeguarding.
• Passion and motivation to support children and families to grow, effectively communicate and develop together.
