Job summary

Embrace Care in Preston is seeking a dedicated Team Leader to supervise a team of Support Workers in a children’s residential home. You will ensure care plans, safeguarding procedures and records are maintained to support Ofsted outcomes.

The role combines leadership, mentoring and hands-on care to create safe, nurturing environments for children with autism, ADHD and complex needs. The successful candidate will have experience in residential care, a Level 3 qualification (or working towards

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or similar in children's residential care.
• Strong leadership with a calm, caring approach.
• Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential Care or willingness to work towards Level 4/5.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and children’s residential care standards.
• Commitment to positive outcomes for children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and support a team of Support Workers to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.
• Ensure care plans and safeguarding procedures are followed consistently.
• Support the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager with daily operations in an Ofsted-regulated home.
• Promote routines, independence and skill development for children and young people.
• Model professional practice and mentor staff to improve practice and outcomes.
• Build positive relationships with families, social workers and external professionals.

Embrace Care is recruiting a full-time Team Leader for one of our Ofsted-regulated children's residential homes in Preston, supporting children and young people with Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities and complex needs.

As a Team Leader at Embrace Care, you will lead by example and play a vital part in creating safe, nurturing and therapeutic home environments where children feel valued, supported and able to thrive. Your guidance, consistency and leadership will directly influence positive outcomes for children and the development of your team.

Contract Details:

• Permanent full-time position
• Includes sleep-in duties

Your Role as a Team Leader:

• Lead, supervise and support a team of Support Workers to deliver high-quality, child-centred care
• Ensure care plans, behaviour support strategies and safeguarding procedures are followed consistently
• Support the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager with daily operations in an Ofsted-regulated children's home
• Promote positive routines, independence and skill development for children and young people
• Model professional practice and provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to staff
• Build positive relationships with families, social workers and external professionals
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to Ofsted-compliant practice and quality assurance

Requirements:

• Experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or similar role in children's residential care
• Strong leadership skills with a calm, caring and consistent approach
• Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential Care (or willingness to work towards Level 4/5)
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and children's residential care standards
• Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people
• Reliability, resilience and the ability to lead by example
