Job summary

Serco Limited, on behalf of Shropshire Community Leisure Trust, is recruiting for a Children's Activity Assistant at Oswestry Leisure Centre. The role involves creating safe, engaging experiences for children during school holidays, delivering sports and arts activities, and promoting active, healthier lifestyles in the local community.

This casual contract offers flexible shifts between 8am and 5:30pm, including weekends. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• An understanding of holiday scheme provision and activity delivery.
• Strong communication and customer care skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage different activity areas.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A flexible, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to working with children.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fun, safe and engaging sports, arts and crafts activities in line with the holiday programme.
• Support the delivery of a high-quality holiday scheme by working closely with colleagues.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment where children can learn, develop and enjoy new experiences.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with site procedures.
• Follow safeguarding practices and comply with all policies and procedures.
• Carry out other duties appropriate to the role as required.

Salary: £8.00 - £12.71 plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Casual contract, flexible to work various shifts between 8am - 5.30pm including weekend shifts to meet the needs of the business.

As a Children's Activity Assistant, you'll help create safe, enjoyable and engaging experiences for children and young people during school holidays. From supporting sports sessions to creative activities, your work has purpose and delivers a positive impact on communities by helping children stay active, build confidence and make lasting memories in a welcoming environment.

What you'll do as a Children's Activity Assistant
