Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Children's Support Worker for residential services in Highbridge, Somerset. You will support vulnerable children and young people in daily activities, weekend trips, and activities, helping them build independence in a nurturing environment.

The role requires at least 6 months' experience in social care, restraint training (TMVA) or willingness to undertake a 3-day course, a valid UK driving licence, a current Enhanced DBS, and the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
• Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature.
• At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care setting.
• Restraint training (TMVA) certificate or willingness to undertake a 3-day course.
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people in their daily activities and interests
• Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips to promote independence and wellbeing
• Assist with organising and supporting weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or trips to Butlins
• Maintain a safe environment by understanding and following care plans and guidelines
• Provide emotional and practical support to young people
• Support behaviour management and minimise incidents, including restraint training (or willingness to undergo training)
• Promote the safety, health, and welfare of children and young people in your care
