Job summary

Nurseplus UK Ltd is seeking a Children’s Support Worker to make a difference daily across residential homes, SEN schools, and other children’s services in the UK. This is a temporary position offering varied shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends.

You’ll provide safeguarding, support learning, personal care, and crisis intervention while promoting independence and well-being for children with complex needs. Training is provided and DBS is required.

Qualifications

• 12 months post-qualification experience in a children’s/young adult setting.
• Knowledge in EBD, SEMH, CSE or SEN/SEND.
• Good standard of English and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Support, safeguard and promote wellbeing of children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.
• Assist with educational development and personal care to aid independence.
• Manage crisis interventions as required.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Children’s Support Worker may include supporting, safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour, managing complex behaviours and crisis intervention. You may be required to support them in several ways, from helping them with their educational development to aiding them with personal care, allowing them to gain independence and making a massive impact to their daily lives.

What We’re Looking For

• You must be over 21 years old and have the right to work in the UK.
• A minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience working within a children’s/young adult setting.
• Knowledge in one of EBD, SEMH, CSE or SEN/SEND.
• A Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce is desirable.
• A good standard of English and the ability to communicate effectively.
• A clear enhanced DBS, which you can apply for upon registration.
