Job Description:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage team workload ensuring child case management is in the best interest of each child.
• Prioritize and distribute workload among social work team members, ensuring safety and optimal use of skills.
• Maintain communication within the service, including regular team meetings to review performance and discuss corporate and care management issues.
• Collaborate with peers and represent the service externally, including court attendance, to ensure care planning meets children's needs and safety.
• Collect and report management information to monitor workloads, activity, and quality.
• Achieve performance targets by coordinating, developing, monitoring, and evaluating staff activities, promoting high standards.
• Conduct regular case audits in support of the Quality Assurance team.
• Manage performance, sickness, or conduct concerns in line with HR procedures and policies.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Social Work or equivalent.
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Thorough knowledge of legislation, regulations, and standards relevant to children in need.
• Significant post-qualifying experience in social care with children in need.
• Experience working collaboratively with other services.
• Experience managing or supervising in children’s social services.
• Enhanced DBS within the last 12 months or willingness to obtain one.
