About the role

Nurseplus, a leading care agency specialising in temporary recruitment, is looking for Children’s and Young People Support Workers. You should be highly motivated, committed, and genuinely interested in providing the highest quality of care for children and young people. You will work across various settings, including Mental Health, Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Education, and Residential care.

Your role as a Children and Young People’s Support Worker involves working closely with children in care, focusing on their needs and well-being. Your daily responsibilities will include supporting them in educational pursuits, hobbies, and activities. Your support will be crucial in fostering positive outcomes and shaping their futures.

Your responsibilities
  • Supporting, safeguarding, and promoting the well-being of children and young people
  • Assisting with daily routines in community and educational settings
  • Organising and facilitating social activities
  • Transportation assistance
  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe practices
  • Providing high levels of supervision and support
  • Working in accordance with Ofsted standards
  • Managing complex behaviours and crisis situations
  • Contributing to care plans and risk assessments, including reviews and implementation
Candidate requirements
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working with children and/or young adults
  • Must be over 21 years old to meet industry regulations
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Knowledge in areas such as EBD, SEMH, CSE, and SEND
  • Good English communication skills
  • Desirable: Diploma 3/4 in Health and Social Care or Residential Care
  • Enhanced DBS check (cost £45.40, refundable after a set period of employment)
