Semester Recruitment specialises in supporting young people aged 5-18 in supported living, semi-independent accommodation, and children’s residential homes.

We are currently looking for Support and Youth Workers to provide ongoing support to Care Leavers in the area.

Great flexibility with shifts and rotas.

Rates from £14.50 an hour and £75 sleep – full and part-time options available.

Our client is a leading provider of care to children and young people in the area and is recruiting Support Workers on a long-term temporary basis.

Shifts typically include 24-hour sleepovers; however, day and night shifts are also possible.

Although temporary, this is a full-time, ongoing role with no specified end date.

This role involves supporting Care Leavers aged 15-18, helping to increase their independence skills.

It is essential that you have experience working within a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification in this sector.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High standard of general education
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care – Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent
  • Willingness to undertake further training
  • Current full driving licence with business insurance (preferable)

Job Purpose

To be responsible for providing support to vulnerable people (service users) for the company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Assist the young person’s allocated social worker in delivering the service.
    • Provide transport/escort to the young person as directed in line with care plans.
    • Conduct welcome and induction for young people.
    • Perform ongoing assessments of service users’ needs.
    • Provide ongoing support and monitoring of service users.
    • Assist with welfare and NHS issues.
    • Prepare reports.
    • Arrange appointments with various partner agencies.
    • Maintain regular contact with young people.
    • Inform clients about support groups.
    • Assist with Move-On processes for service users.

Some shifts may also be 24 hours (sleepovers); flexibility and availability for 2-3 days a week would constitute full-time hours. An excellent company with a great team.
