We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childrens Support Worker to join a specialist SEN school in Bolton supporting children with Learning Disabilities (LD) and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). As a Childrens Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support for students with these specific needs, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive and inclusive environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Childrens Support Worker who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional learning and emotional challenges. You will work closely with the class teacher and other specialists to help students overcome barriers to learning and foster their personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering a differentiated curriculum to students with Learning Disabilities (LD) and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), acting as a Childrens Support Worker in one-on-one and small group support.
  • Provide support with behaviour management, using de-escalation techniques and reinforcing positive behaviour strategies to help children manage their emotions and reactions.
  • As aChildrens Support Worker, help create a calm, structured classroom environment that encourages learning and supports students with additional needs.
  • Support children with LD and EBD in developing social and communication skills, promoting inclusion and positive peer relationships.
  • Assist in monitoring progress and providing feedback to the class teacher on how interventions are impacting student learning and behaviour as a Childrens Support Worker.
  • Previous experience working as a Childrens Support Worker who have Learning Disabilities (LD) and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of LD and EBD needs, with the ability to implement strategies to support academic and emotional development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic approach to working with children who require additional support, with a genuine passion for their learning and wellbeing as a Childrens Support Worker.
