Children's Senior Residential Support Worker
Location: Rochdale

Hourly Rate: £12.50 - 13.80

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 35 – 40 hours per week (Full Time)

Job description:

  1. As a Senior Residential Childcare Worker, your role is to assist the home’s management team in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose and uphold the organisation’s mission statement and values.
  2. To support and assist in the leadership of the care team to enable them to dynamically meet the changing needs of the children and young people, and to support in the day-to-day running and delivery of practice across the home.
  3. The Senior Residential Childcare Worker role is to support the Registered Home Manager in providing the best quality childcare in a safe and care-focused environment for the children.
  4. When on shift, you will have initial responsibilities for monitoring and supervision of staff and take responsibility for completing daily tasks, and guidance of colleagues whilst ensuring the welfare and care of the young people.
  5. As a Senior, you are expected to support the development of your residential care worker colleagues; achieved through effective peer role modelling, guidance, task setting, and debrief and reflection.
  6. You will further support the Home Manager in establishing an effective supervision structure which provides wrap-around support for the care team at all times.
  7. You will undertake direct work with the children and young people as appropriate, taking an active role in reviewing case files, updating plans and supporting professional reviewing meetings, advocating support for the child where necessary.
  8. The children and young people that we care for can demonstrate a wide range of challenging behaviours and can be very demanding of time, attention, and emotions.
  9. The focus of every staff member is to work actively to meet the needs of the children and young people in our care; achieved through a dynamic and active team.
  10. You will work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people.
  11. Offer supervision and support to the Care Team in line with Quality Standards & Regulations and as directed by the Home Manager.
  12. Promote a PACE approach across the home, and role model best practice throughout the shifts.

Shifts: Shift pattern is based on Two on Two off. (Please note you will be required to work for the full 48 hours 10-10 over the two-day shift).

Requirements:

  1. Driving Licence - Essential
  2. Level 3 - Health and social care required or working towards - Essential
  3. 2 Years experience working in Children's Residential - Essential
