Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a dedicated Children's Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities Team. You will work with children and families, carrying out holistic assessments and coordinating support across social care, health and education.

The role emphasises a restorative, child-centred approach and collaboration within a specialist service, with opportunities for development and progressive career paths.

Qualifications

• This role requires a recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• Experience working with children, young people and families is essential.
• Strong assessment, planning and multi-agency working skills are required.
• Ability to manage complex situations with evidence-based decisions and a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with children and young people with varying additional needs and their families.
• Complete holistic assessments and develop tailored plans for each child.
• Coordinate multi-agency support across social care, health and education.
• Build positive, restorative relationships with children and families.
• Manage complex situations and make child-centred decisions.
• Ensure the child’s voice is central to planning and intervention.
• Collaborate within a specialist Children with Disabilities service.
