Job summary

Cornwall Council is recruiting social workers for the Gweres Tus Yowynk (GTY) service to support young people and families. You will work within a small therapeutic team across the West, Mid and East areas, undertaking assessments and delivering targeted interventions to prevent escalation while staying at home where safe and appropriate.

This public-facing role requires robust professional practice and a commitment to ongoing development within a supportive organisation that values flexible

Qualifications

• Must hold a social work degree or recognised qualification (Dip.SW, CCSW, CSS).
• Post-qualifying experience in social care.
• Proven track record of improving outcomes for children.
• Strong written and verbal communication with families and professionals.
• Knowledge of legislation, models and theories in children’s social work.
• Ability to undertake assessments and use evidence-based tools to plan and review care.

Responsibilities

• Undertake social work with young people and complete assessments.
• Manage a caseload and provide high‑quality interventions.
• Support families to remain at home where appropriate.
• Collaborate with multi‑agency teams to improve outcomes.
