Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited, Brownhills, is seeking an experienced Team Manager for Children's Social Care on a 3-month contract with a local authority. You will lead a team of social workers and advanced practitioners, ensuring safeguarding and statutory duties are delivered to a high standard.

You will supervise cases, support professional development, and collaborate with partner agencies while promoting reflective practice and service improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Experience leading Children's Social Care teams.
• Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
• Experience managing complex/high-risk safeguarding cases and driving improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and management of a Children's Social Care team.
• Ensure statutory responsibilities are fulfilled in line with legislation and policies.
• Oversee child protection, safeguarding, child in need and neglect casework.
• Provide supervision, mentoring and performance management to staff.
• Promote child-centred practice delivering positive outcomes.
• Monitor caseloads, workloads and service delivery standards.
• Ensure timely completion of assessments, plans and visits.
• Quality assure casework and plans for consistency and compliance.
• Support management of safeguarding cases and professional development.
• Lead risk management, escalation and decision-making processes.
