Job summary

Homes2Inspire, part of Shaw Trust Group, is seeking a Residential Support Worker for Poppy House in Wellingborough. The role involves safeguarding, daily care, budgeting, independence support, and accompanying young people to activities, with shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

You will help maintain a safe, supportive environment, complete accurate records, and work toward QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare. Full-time, 40 hours weekly, with benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and patient approach to care.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm and supportive in challenging situations.
• Willingness to work towards QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of young people in our care.
• Provide daily care and support, including cooking and cleaning.
• Encourage independence in budgeting and shopping.
• Promote participation in community activities and hobbies.
• Maintain a safe environment and follow procedures, reporting incidents.
• Maintain accurate records and liaise with management and professionals.
• Transport young people to school, appointments, and outings.
• Sleep-ins required (1–2 per week) and flexible scheduling.
