Job summary

Paragon Social Care Limited is seeking an experienced Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our care team in Crook, County Durham. You will provide high-quality care, support and supervision to children and young people in a specialist residential home, working with safeguarding policies and care plans.

Qualifications

• Experience in Children’s Residential Care or Residential Childcare.
• Experience in Children’s Support Work or Youth Work.
• Experience in Social Care or Care Work.
• Experience in Behaviour Support and SEN/SEMH settings.
• Experience in Therapeutic care or Foster Care.
• Experience working with children or young people with EBD or complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Providing day-to-day care, support and supervision to children and young people
• Supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)
• Building positive, trusting and professional relationships
• Providing emotional support, reassurance and positive role modelling
• Promoting positive behaviour through consistent boundaries and relationship-based care
• Supporting young people during routines, activities and everyday life
• Carrying out welfare checks in accordance with care plans and risk assessments
• Responding appropriately to incidents, challenging behaviour and safeguarding concerns
• Maintaining accurate records, daily logs, reports and handovers
• Working alongside colleagues, managers and external professionals
• Maintaining a safe, secure, clean and welcoming home environment
• Completing household duties where required
• Supporting morning and evening routines
• Following safeguarding, child protection and health and safety procedures
• Working in accordance with the Children’s Homes Regulations, relevant statutory guidance and organisational policies
