Together Trust is recruiting a Children's Residential Social Care Worker for our South Reddish home in Stockport. The role involves supporting up to 2 children with complex needs, on a 37.5‑hour, 7‑day rota, with a salary of £24,700 per year and a £13.45 hourly rate.

Our children's home in South Reddish, provides therapeutic support for up to 2 children who present with self-harm behaviours, trauma and attachment difficulties. The caring home provides intensive support to children and young people with recognised attachment issues and complex needs.

We are looking for a 3 Children's Residential Social Care Worker positions who can complete the full range of tasks required.

Location South Reddish, Stockport

Hours 37.5 hours per week on a 7-day rota with 2 non-working days each week.

Salary £24,700 per year, hourly rate of £13.45 per hour. Real Living Wage

Sleep in rate - £107.60per shift

Weekend working enhancement - 25% uplift on the hourly rate (£16.82ph) for weekend shifts.

About the position .

• As a Children's Residential Social Care Worker, you will work as part of a residential childcare team providing support for the children and young people with their physical, emotional, and social needs with an emphasis on promoting their personal growth and independence.
• Working on your own initiative and as part of a team, you will be to preparing and assisting the children and young people to fulfil the aims of their person-centred plan.
• Assist with the assessments of need and formulation of plans. This involves working in partnership with other agencies and taking into account the wishes and feelings of the young people, their parents and other persons with parental responsibility, in line with legislation pertaining to the young people.
• You will work flexibly to undertake the full range of duties in a well‑planned way that respects and values the children and young people as individuals.
• We provide compassionate, nurturing care for children and young people with autism, physical and learning disabilities along with communication, sensory and social difficulties.
• There is an amount of admin of medication. Additional training is provided for all support requirements.

About you .

Do you have the skills we are looking for.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills. You'll be expected to liaise with other staff, parents/carers, and professionals.
• Some previous experience of working in a children's residential setting along with flexibility to respond to the needs of the home.
• Am ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, taking the lead when required, maintaining & encouraging open and honest communication.
• You must have a good understanding of English and IT skills and be happy to complete all the paperwork and care plans to a good quality. Which includes daily recording on IT systems (Clearcare) and other records such as incident reports.
• An enthusiastic, reliable and outgoing person with a level of maturity, skills and interests which can be utilised to engage the young people.

This service is regulated by Ofsted therefore all employees must be over the age of 22 years at the time of joining the service.
