This is an incredibly rewarding role where you will play a vital part in fostering their independence, promoting their well-being, and helping them reach their full potential.

About Us:
We provide a safe, stable, and stimulating home environment for children and young people with a range of learning disabilities. Our focus is on providing individualised care, promoting independence, and encouraging personal growth through a child-centred approach. We believe in creating a fun, engaging, and supportive atmosphere where children feel valued and empowered.

The Role:
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating a positive and engaging environment, encouraging participation in activities, hobbies, and educational pursuits.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with the children, their families, and other professionals.
  • Supporting children to develop independent living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and managing their personal space.
  • Assisting with the implementation of individual care plans, risk assessments, and behavioural support strategies.
  • Promoting children's social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of children's progress and any incidents.
  • Working effectively as part of a dedicated team, communicating clearly and collaborating to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
  • Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Compassionate and empathetic: Genuinely caring and understanding of the unique needs of children with learning disabilities.
  • Patient and resilient: Able to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
  • Enthusiastic and creative: Eager to engage children in a variety of activities and foster a fun environment.
  • Reliable and responsible: Committed to providing consistent and high-quality care.
  • Excellent communicators: Able to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Team players: Willing to collaborate and support colleagues.
  • Flexible: Able to work a rota that includes evenings, weekends, and potentially sleep-ins (fully paid).

Essential Requirements:

  • A genuine desire to work with children and young people with learning disabilities.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
  • Basic IT skills for record keeping.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable (but not essential, as full training will be provided):

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with learning disabilities in a residential or care setting.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (due to the location of some activities).

What We Offer:

  • 6 months full sick pay followed by 6 months sick pay at 50%
  • 6 weeks' annual leave
  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Comprehensive induction and ongoing training, including specialist training in learning disabilities and positive behaviour support.
  • Opportunities for career development and progression within a supportive organisation.
  • A friendly and collaborative team environment.
  • Regular supervision and support.
  • Generous annual leave allowance.
  • The immense satisfaction of making a real difference to children's lives.
