Job summary

Your Chapter in Haslingden is seeking a Residential Support Worker to join a passionate team dedicated to helping vulnerable children and young people who have experienced trauma.

You’ll support daily routines, education, and activities, maintain records, and work within a flexible pattern including evenings, weekends and occasional sleep-ins, with salary up to £33,703 per annum.

Job description

Location: Haslingden, BB4
Salary: Up to £33,703 per annum
Hours: Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours per week) with a flexible shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, and an average of two sleep-ins per week (included in salary - £55 per sleep-in). Voluntary overtime is also available.

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you’ll be a crucial part of a passionate team, helping vulnerable young people through their challenges and creating positive change in their lives.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Residential Support Worker, your role will include:

  • Supporting daily routines: Supporting children with personal care, meal preparation, and daily activities to help them develop independence
  • Educational support: Encouraging and supporting children in their learning journey, assisting with homework, and helping them develop new skills
  • Leading recreational activities: Organising and leading recreational activities, including fun events and holidays, to increase engagement and enhance well‑being.
  • Emotional support: Providing guidance, care, and person‑centred support to help children navigate difficult moments
  • Documentation: Completing care plans, reports, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Maintaining a safe environment: Ensuring the home is clean, secure, and well‑organised
  • Team collaboration: Working closely with colleagues to create a positive, nurturing environment

Previous experience in residential care is preferred but not essential—we provide full training to support your success in the role.
