Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking Children's Residential Support Workers for a brand-new residential home. You will act as a corporate parent, building trusted relationships with children and young people while safeguarding their welfare and safety.

We welcome experienced social care workers and those with transferable skills, offering training and the potential to complete QCF Level 3 during probation. Roles include weekend and overnight shifts, with comprehensive employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in (recognised and current) QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent.
• The ability to engage with children and teenagers who have complex emotional needs.
• 2 years' experience in Social Care is desirable.
• Ability to work the required shift patterns including weekends, overnights, late shifts and bank holidays.

• Take on the role of a corporate parent, providing children with love and direction.
• Build meaningful relationships with children and young people who have complex early lives.
• Take immediate action when welfare or safety is at risk.
• Deliver high-quality support and guidance to promote the best outcomes for children in placement.

• Support children to feel safe and settle at night.
