Job summary

Purosearch Ltd. is seeking a Registered Manager for a new 2-bed EBD home in Barnsley. You will lead the setup, recruit and develop staff, and ensure high-quality, therapeutic care in line with Ofsted requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, safeguarding expertise and a child-centred approach, with progression toward dual Registered Manager as the service expands. 32 days leave, pension, wellbeing programme, and future growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience as Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in children's residential care.
• Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding.
• Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
• Strong leadership to recruit, develop and motivate staff.
• Experience managing compliance, quality assurance and safeguarding.
• Excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
• Child-centred and therapeutic approach to care.
• Level 5 qualification or willingness to work towards it.

Responsibilities

• Lead registration, opening and day-to-day management of the new 2-bed EBD children’s home.
• Ensure Ofsted, regulatory and safeguarding compliance.
• Recruit, induct, supervise and develop a high-performing staff team.
• Create a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for children with EBD.
• Develop and maintain high-quality care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding processes.
• Manage staffing, rotas, budgets and overall operation of the home.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, social workers and other professionals.
• Monitor quality of care and maintain strong regulatory compliance.
• Prepare the home for Ofsted inspections and drive continuous improvement.
• Promote positive outcomes, independence and emotional wellbeing for children.
• Work with senior leadership and contribute to service development.
• Develop towards potential dual Registered Manager as the organisation grows.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Registered Manager or extensive experience as a Deputy Manager within children's residential care
• Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations and safeguarding
• Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, develop and motivate a staff team
• Confident managing compliance, quality assurance and safeguarding
• Excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills
• Child-centred and therapeutic approach to care
• Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it
• Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people
• Lead the registration, opening and day-to-day management of the brand-new 2-bed EBD children's home
