Job summary

KHR - Recruitment Specialists is seeking multiple Children's Home Support Workers in the Maidstone area. You will support vulnerable young people aged 8-18 in a residential setting, promoting independence and emotional wellbeing.

A driving licence is desirable, and NVQ Level 3 is essential. The role offers a permanent contract, with 3 shifts per week and a rota planned 4–6 weeks ahead, including unsocial hours.

Qualifications

  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 in childcare or health and social care (essential).
  • Experience supporting children aged 8-18 with emotional/behavioural needs.
  • Willingness to work unsocial hours and provide a safe, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support young people with health, medical and physical care needs.
  • Attend healthcare appointments and report follow-up.
  • Maintain a structured, safe living environment and promote independence.
  • Encourage practical life skills and contribute to care planning and reviews.

Role: Children's Home Support Workers
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £12.92-£13.10ph (Circa £27k) + Bonus
Locations: Maidstone Area, Kent (Multiple Locations)
Hours: 3 Shifts Per Week (2 for Part-Time) / 8am-8:30pm or 8pm-8:30am (you receive your rota 4-6 weeks in advance and your shifts tend to be grouped together)

Our client, a well-established children's residential provider, is seeking dedicated and compassionate Children's Home Support Workers to support vulnerable young people aged 8-18.

This role involves creating a safe, stable, and nurturing environment while promoting independence, personal development, and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities of a qualified Children's Home Support Worker
  • Support young people with health, medical, and physical care needs
  • Arrange and attend healthcare appointments, ensuring appropriate follow-up reporting
  • Contribute to a positive 24-hour learning environment
  • Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive living environment at all times
  • Supervise and support young people during daily routines, including before/after education and mealtimes
  • Encourage independence, including developing practical life skills such as cooking
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings and reviews
We are seeking candidates who:
  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 in childcare or health and social care (essential)
  • You must hold a driving license and a vehicle (desirable)
  • Have at least 1 year of recent experience in a relevant care setting
  • Have experience supporting children with emotional, behavioural, social difficulties, mental health needs, and complex needs
  • Willingness to do unsociable hours
