Job summary

Luna Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Residential Support Worker in Hatfield to care for up to two children in a brand‑new home for those with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

You will provide emotional and practical support, help establish routines, and maintain a safe, structured, child‑centred environment while working shifts that may include sleep‑ins and nights.

Qualifications

• Direct experience in children’s residential care is essential.
• Understanding of EBD and trauma‑informed practice.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour with patience and professionalism.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, nights, and sleep‑ins.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality care and support to young people.
• Build trusting, therapeutic relationships and act as a positive role model.
• Support young people with daily routines, education, activities, and appointments.
• Promote independence, resilience, and positive behaviour.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and safeguarding documentation.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team, external professionals, and families.
• Participate in sleep‑ins and follow the home’s rota pattern.
• Uphold the home’s ethos, values, and Ofsted standards.
• Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and structured living environment.

About the Homes

Brand‑new children’s residential home supporting children with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The home will care for up to two children, offering a stable, nurturing, and therapeutic environment. You’ll be joining a strong, supportive Registered Manager and a team committed to high‑quality care, consistency, and positive outcomes.

The Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in the daily care and development of young people living in the home. You’ll provide emotional and practical support, help create routines, and ensure the home remains a safe, structured, and child‑centred environment.
