Purosearch Ltd. is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker for a brand-new therapeutic children's home in Bromsgrove. You will take a senior role, guiding Residential Support Workers and leading day-to-day operations to ensure safe, nurturing care.

Applicants should have Level 3 in Children & Young People or Health & Social Care, a full UK driving licence, and a passion for safeguarding. The role offers structured pay progression, training, and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, safe and nurturing care to children and young people.
  • Take a senior role in the day-to-day running of the children's home.
  • Lead by example and support Residential Support Workers in delivering high standards of care.
  • Mentor, guide and support colleagues to develop their skills and confidence.
  • Build positive, trusting and professional relationships with young people.
  • Support the delivery of therapeutic, child-centred care.
  • Follow individual care plans, safeguarding procedures and agreed therapeutic approaches.
  • Support young people with their emotional wellbeing, development and individual needs.
  • Respond appropriately to challenging situations and support positive behaviour.
  • Help maintain a stable, supportive and homely environment.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the home and the effective delivery of daily routines.
  • Support colleagues to maintain high standards of safeguarding, records and professional practice.
  • Participate fully in the fixed shift pattern and sleep-in requirements.
  • Complete required training and engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Support the development of a positive, reflective and child-focused team culture.

Children's Home Senior Residential Support Worker

Salary: £15.25–£16.25 per hour, depending on experience
Location: Bromsgrove, B61
Home Size: 3 Bed Therapeutic Children's Home

What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as a Residential Support Worker within children's residential care
  • Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People or Health & Social Care
  • Full manual UK driving licence
  • Passion for creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people
  • Strong understanding of the needs of children and young people in residential care
  • Motivated, resilient and positive approach
  • Open-minded attitude towards working within a therapeutic environment
  • Ability to lead, mentor and support colleagues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
