Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking compassionate Community Carers to support children with complex medical needs in their homes across Surrey. You will provide high-quality, personalised care in familiar environments, working closely with families and clinical teams to ensure safe, child-centred care.

The role is 37.5 hours weekly, with night shifts and weekend work on a rotational basis. A starting salary of £25,500 plus Group Pension, and various wellbeing and development benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to relate well to children and families.
• Willingness to work towards the “experienced to teach” section of the Competency Framework.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health or Social Care or equivalent.
• GCSEs in Maths and English.
• British Sign Language Level 1 or Makaton.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective care to children in the community as delegated by the Named Nurse.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate procedures.
• Maintain competencies in specific clinical skills and understand emergency procedures, including escalation and resuscitation.
• Support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing in partnership with families and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Help create a safe, stimulating environment and monitor and record each child’s condition, taking action where needed.
• Organise day-to-day activities and attend mandatory training, supervision, and team sessions.
