Job summary

Knowsley Borough Council is seeking an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join their Child protection team. This role focuses on safeguarding and delivering improved outcomes for looked after children and young people within a supported caseload.

You will undertake care planning, lead complex assessments and work with families and partner agencies to manage risk and promote positive outcomes. The role requires strong analytical and court skills and a commitment to lasting change.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Experience of safeguarding and child protection work.

• Contribute to service development and practice improvement.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues by sharing expertise.

This is a targeted role within our cared for children's service with reduced caseload. The aim and expectations for this role include supporting children and young people through improved planning, progressing outcomes with a view to reduce delay in care planning.

You will:

• Be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

As an Experienced Social Worker within our Cared for Children's service you will:

• Develop strong, purposeful relationships with children, their families and carers.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to manage risk and promote positive outcomes.
• Contribute to service development and practice improvement.
• Support less experienced colleagues through sharing your expertise and knowledge.
