Job summary

Birmingham Children's Trust is recruiting an experienced Team Manager for the Children In Care Team based at One Avenue Road, Aston, Birmingham.

You will lead a team of social workers, provide high-quality supervision, drive care planning and safeguarding practice, and support permanency planning with a trauma-informed approach. The role requires Social Work England registration, a degree in social work, and a driving licence; two days in the office per week.

Qualifications

• Social Worker with a degree in social work or equivalent.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Experience leading and supervising a team of social workers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and support a team of Social Workers within the Children in Care Service.
• Provide professional supervision, coaching and guidance to practitioners.
• Oversee care planning and pathway planning for children and young people.
• Drive permanency planning and ensure timely, appropriate actions.
• Monitor progress and outcomes, safeguarding and decision-making.
• Maintain trauma-informed, relationship-based practice in day-to-day work.
• Ensure statutory visits, reviews, and reports meet required standards.
• Collaborate with IROs, education, health, placement providers and partners.
