Job summary

East Coast College is seeking a dedicated Workplace Assessor in Childcare to support learners undertaking childcare qualifications in their workplace. You will conduct assessments, observe practice in the setting, provide constructive feedback, and help learners achieve progress while liaising with employers and college staff.

This role requires an assessor qualification (A1, D32/D33, TAQA, CAVA or equivalent), a degree in Childcare or related subject, and significant experience in the childcare

Qualifications

• Assessor qualification (A1, D32/D33, TAQA, CAVA or equivalent).
• Degree in Childcare, Early Years, Education or a related subject.
• Significant occupational experience in childcare or early years.
• Strong knowledge of childcare legislation, safeguarding and best practice.
• Excellent communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workplace assessments and reviews for learners.
• Observe learners in the workplace and assess competence.
• Provide constructive feedback and action plans.
• Maintain accurate assessment records and ensure compliance.
• Liaise with employers, managers and curriculum teams.
• Monitor achievement, attendance and engagement; identify support needs.
• Ensure assessment practice meets quality assurance and safeguarding requirements.
• Commitment to safeguarding.
