Job description

About JC Academy:
At JC Academy, we provide exceptional before-and-after-school care, as well as school holiday camps for children aged 4-12. We believe that consistency, fun, and care are key to building positive relationships with children. We’re looking for a dedicated Holiday Club Manager (Childcare Manager) to lead our team and shape the future of children’s care in a safe and secure setting.

In this role, you will be:

  • Managing Day-to-Day Operations: As a Childcare Manager, you will oversee the smooth running of our before-and-after-school provision, as well as school holiday camps, ensuring the highest standards of care and activity. This includes managing hours such as 8:30 am to 6:30 pm.
  • Leading a Team: Supervise, support, and motivate a team of supervisors and activity leaders to ensure quality service and excellent care for the children, embodying your role as a Childcare Manager.
  • Being the Main Point of Contact: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing clear, friendly communication, and ensuring a high standard of care as the Holiday Club Manager.
  • Ensuring Child Safety and Well-being: Maintain safety and hygiene standards, ensuring children’s welfare is always the top priority, adhering to safeguarding policies as a Childcare Manager.
  • Leading Fun, Engaging Activities: Plan and lead a range of exciting activities that keep children entertained and inspired, making their experience at JC Academy unforgettable.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Level 3 Childcare Qualification (or equivalent): A formal qualification in childcare or education is essential for this Childcare Manager role.
  • First Aid Certification (desirable, but not essential): Having a First Aid qualification is a plus, though training can be provided.
  • Experience with Children: Prior experience working with children aged 4-12 in a childcare or educational setting is essential.
  • A Warm, Friendly Personality: Be approachable and make every child feel valued and special, building strong connections with them.
  • Understanding of Trends: Have a good impression (or even better, an understanding) of platforms like YouTube and TikTok. Dance skills aren’t required, but bonus points if you can pull off a TikTok move or two!
  • Ability to Laugh at Their Jokes: Kids have the best sense of humour! Be ready to laugh along, even when you don’t quite get the joke.
  • A Passion for Children’s Wellbeing: A genuine passion for making a positive impact in children's lives, encouraging their growth and development.

What’s in it for You?

  • Earn Up to £13.50 an hour: Based on your experience, we offer competitive pay.
  • Make a Real Impact: Every day, as a Childcare Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to shape children's lives, helping them grow, learn, and have fun in a safe, engaging environment.
  • Professional Development: Gain valuable experience and management qualifications, with plenty of opportunities to grow your leadership and organizational skills as a Childcare Manager.
  • Join a Passionate Team: Become part of a fun, dedicated team that values your creativity and energy, while delivering outstanding care to children.
  • Team Perks: Free childcare when working
