The Isle of Wight Council is seeking a dedicated Pre School Assistant to provide exceptional care for children in a stimulating environment. The role requires a committed individual with at least 2 years' experience in early years settings, a Level 3 qualification, and a passion for supporting children's growth. Successful candidates will work closely with the Pre School Lead and contribute to planning engaging activities while promoting positive behavior.
35 Hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8.45am - 6pm
We are currently seeking a Pre School Assistant to support the Pre School Lead in providing a safe and stimulating environment for all children. The successful candidate will be required to encourage children to participate in activities, listen to children, assist them when needed, and promote positive behaviour through encouragement, praise, and role modelling.
We are looking for someone caring, kind, reliable, and enthusiastic about working in a small team to provide excellent childcare. You should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with passes in English and Maths at Grade C or above. Candidates must hold a minimum of Level 3 qualification in early years and have at least 2 years’ experience working in an early years setting. A current paediatric first aid qualification is preferred, or willingness to attend training to obtain one.
The Childcare Lead at Hunnyhill School will oversee the childcare services, including afterschool care and holiday club for children aged 3 to 11. Responsibilities include managing bookings and invoicing, planning engaging activities, and staff scheduling based on uptake. The role requires holding DSL training or willingness to undertake this course. Previous experience in a lead role managing a setting is desirable.
