Job description

Childcare Apprenticeship – Level 3 – Kids Love Nature, Marwell Zoo.

Shoots Training are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable, and enthusiastic individual to join Kid’s Love Nature’s Marwell Zoo setting as a Level 3 Apprentice.

The setting is located within the grounds of Marwell Zoo, overlooking the penguin and giraffe enclosures, and benefits from working alongside Marwell Zoo's Education Team, who provide twice daily Mini Zoologists Explorer Sessions all around the nursery, in addition to sessions in Marwell Zoo's learning centre.

The setting cares for children from ages 9 months to 5 years old, and features a large outdoor play area, vegetable garden, sandpit, dens, climbing equipment, and access to a woodland.

It also includes large classrooms, a nature room, sleep room, music room, children’s kitchens, and outdoor spaces.

This is an exciting opportunity to complete a Level 3 Childcare apprenticeship within a friendly team in a fantastic setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensuring safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed at all times
• Treating each child as a unique individual
• Supporting children in settling into the environment
• Observing, assessing, and planning for children, including statutory assessments and maintaining child profile books
• Planning and presenting activities based on children's interests and developmental needs
• Supporting children in engaging in constructive activities
• Changing nappies and assisting with toilet training as needed
• Completing records such as accident, incident, and medical forms
• Discussing concerns about a child’s welfare or development with nursery management

Expectations for Early Years Apprentice:

• Developing and maintaining the Considered Space
• Supporting and nurturing the Considered Child
• Becoming a considered adult within the environment
• Attending training as part of the Apprenticeship
• Meeting statutory and company requirements

Qualities Required:

Requirements:

Hours:

• Approximately 36 hours per week, with shifts between 8am and 5pm
