Job description

Walsall Childcare is a small family-run childcare chain in the West Midlands, where research, science, and love create inspiring spaces and resources. The nurseries are situated in Aldridge and Darlaston of Walsall, each with its unique charm, resources, and exceptional spaces.

Upon completion, you will develop into a Level 3 practitioner, with the potential for a permanent position. There is also the opportunity to pursue other childcare-oriented roles such as social work, teaching, or managerial positions.

Responsibilities:

• Providing an excellent range of activities that ensures that the child learns while having fun.
• Supporting children’s learning and development, including planning and observations.
• Preparing and maintaining the environment and resources for the children.
• Preparing food for breakfast, snack, and afternoon tea.
• Supporting children’s self-help needs.
• Being creative and enthusiastic.
• Following safeguarding rules and undertaking First Aid training as required.
• Undertaking training as appropriate to meet any changes in standards or legal requirements.
• Ensuring that all Health and Hygiene requirements are always adhered to.
• Gaining a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification at the end of the course.
• Completing all training remotely via Teams, with tutor support throughout and visits to your setting.
• Participating in online remote training sessions once a week for the first 8 weeks, scheduled as needed.
• Completing your Level 3 Paediatric First Aid.

Apprentices are required to be flexible to meet the needs of the business. The average working week will be between 30-40 hours, Monday to Friday (Shifts TBC).
