Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking compassionate Community Carers to support children with complex medical needs in their homes and community settings in Surrey. You will work with families and clinical teams to deliver safe, sensitive, child-centred care, adapting to changing needs and providing essential support to enhance wellbeing and independence.

The role involves 24/7 coverage with night shifts and weekends on a rotational basis.

Qualifications

• Understanding the impact of caring for children with complex medical needs at home.
• Willingness to train new staff in diverse settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to relate well to children and families.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective care to children in the community as delegated by the Named Nurse.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate procedures.
• Maintain competencies in clinical skills and understand emergency procedures.
• Support children's learning, development, and wellbeing with families and colleagues.
• Help create a safe, stimulating environment and monitor each child's condition.

Education

NVQ Level 3 in Health or Social Care (Desirable)
