Job summary

Derian House Children’s Hospice in Chorley is seeking a Children & Family Advocate and Engagement Worker to listen to and act on the views of babies, children, young people and families.

You will work with the Engagement Team to design accessible consultation, co-design activities, and gather feedback, ensuring families stay central to service delivery. 37.5 hours per week, flexible including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusted relationships with children, young people and families across the hospice’s reach.
• Support individuals and groups to express their views, understand their options and participate in decisions that affect them.
• Plan and deliver accessible engagement sessions, projects, activities, surveys and consultation working in collaboration with colleagues and partners.
• Gather, record and share feedback accurately, sensitively and in line with confidentiality and data-protection requirements.
• Identify groups or individuals who face barriers to engagement and be able to influence colleagues/teams through purposeful support and challenge, to reach and maintain high-quality service delivery.
• Contribute to quality-assurance activity relating to advocacy and engagement, highlighting themes, gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Support the development and use of accessible feedback tools and family communications.
