Job description

Child Criminal Exploitation Practitioner - Creative Arts
  • Full-time
  • Contract type: Permanent, full-time
  • Service: Music to my ears

Catch22 aims to build a society where everyone has a good place to live, good people around them, and a fulfilling purpose, which we refer to as our '3Ps'. We achieve this by improving lives through frontline service delivery and systemic change, leveraging our charity heart and business mindset.

Young People and Families

Our YPF hub provides early intervention, targeted, and specialist support to those in crisis, leaving care, missing from home, or with substance misuse or mental health issues. Our services support all individuals regardless of their situation, with a high success rate.

Music to My Ears (MTME)

MTME is a creative arts project supporting young people affected by CCE, using music, photography, filmmaking, and other arts to engage and build trusted relationships. It operates outreach services in diverse settings comfortable for young people.

About the role

You will deliver interventions to young people, helping them develop resilience, confidence, healthy relationships, and positive decision-making skills. Using creative arts, you will engage young people and facilitate dialogue where traditional talking therapies may not be effective.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-to-one work with vulnerable children and young people at risk of CCE, including assessments and risk management planning, in collaboration with relevant professionals, managing a caseload of up to 10 young people.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with referring agencies, police, Surrey Risk Management Meetings, Surrey County Council Children’s Services, and other partners, to support CCE intervention protocols.
  • Record all interventions, contacts, outcomes, and correspondence accurately in the Management Information System.
  • Complete monitoring reports and feedback for funders and stakeholders within set deadlines.
  • Use Outcome Stars to monitor progress against targets and KPIs, and to identify individual needs and progress.
  • Undertake all relevant Child Exploitation training, including Solution Focused Therapy, to ensure best practice when working with at-risk youth.
