Job summary

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a clinician to undertake mental health assessments and provide evidence-based interventions for children and young people. The post involves collaboration with families and a multi-disciplinary team, delivering care in hospital and community settings.

You will work under Team Co-Leaders and Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, liaising with Health, Social Services, Education and other agencies to support children and families.

Qualifications

• Undertake mental health assessments and provide appropriate, evidence-based clinical interventions for children and young people.
• Provide support, advice and consultation to families, carers and other professionals.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team and as a sole practitioner when required.
• Ensure clinical work is guided by best-evidence practice and guidelines, with reflection and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver services in hospital settings and community venues.
• Attend and contribute to clinical supervision forums to enhance practice.
• Liaise with other professionals across agencies (Health, Social Services, Education, Voluntary Services).
• Educate children’s mental health needs in family and social settings.
