As we scale, we seek a world-class Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to lead research, engineering, and technical execution—bringing cutting-edge energy innovations from concept to real-world deployment. This role is critical in shaping the technical foundation of Theros Labs' disruptive energy solutions, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and long-term impact.
The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) will lead technical research, development, and deployment across Theros Labs' product range. This role demands a highly technical leader with deep expertise in energy systems, power infrastructure, advanced materials, and AI-driven automation.
As a hands-on innovator, you will develop, test, and optimise next-generation energy solutions, from self-sustaining power systems to decentralised energy networks and adaptive smart materials. This role is suited for a technical leader who can bridge deep research with real-world implementation in large-scale industrial applications.
1.Technical Research & Innovation
Drive breakthrough R&D in new product ventures
Oversee the design and development of high-performance, self-regulating power systems.
Advance decentralised energy models, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security.
Lead technical teams in material science, AI-driven energy optimisation, and blockchain-based power transactions.
Develop next-gen energy storage, high-efficiency photovoltaics, and self-healing smart grids.
Oversee prototype development, testing, and commercial viability analysis.
3.Scalability & System Integration
Ensure Theros Labs technology scales across multiple industries, from real estate, to automotive and industrial manufacturing.
Develop robust, modular technical frameworks for future expansion.
Align R&D with real-world deployment in collaboration with engineering and business teams.
4.Technical Leadership & Cross-Team Collaboration
Build and mentor a high-performing technical team across material science, AI/ML, and engineering.
Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to align technical development with business objectives.
Represent Theros Labs at technical forums, investor discussions, and industry conferences.
5.Intellectual Property & Compliance
Oversee patent filings, IP protection, and technical risk assessment.
Ensure compliance with global energy regulations, material science safety standards, and blockchain security best practices.
5-10 years of experience in technical leadership roles in deep-tech, energy systems, or advanced materials research.
Proven track record in developing and deploying large-scale technical solutions/products.
Expertise in solar technologies, high-performance energy storage, AI-driven grid optimization, or blockchain-based energy transactions preffered but not essential.
Experience leading complex R&D teams, managing prototype-to-production transitions, and overseeing full-stack technical development.
Experience working on infrastructure projects.
Passion for deep-tech innovation, decarbonisation, and building the next-generation energy economy.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD or Master’s in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related technical field.
Previous leadership in a high-growth deep-tech startup or research-driven energy company.
Track record of patents, research publications, or groundbreaking work in energy/materials science.
