Job summary

Electus Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Chief Systems Engineer / Technical Lead in London to define the engineering approach, establish the system architecture and lead a multidisciplinary team through concept, prototype and demonstrator development.

You will drive verification, testing and design assurance while translating capability objectives into real engineering delivery. This role requires hands-on leadership in a demanding defence technology environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong systems engineering expertise across requirements, architecture, integration and verification.
• Hands-on engineering leadership with delivery of complex products.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of development from concept to prototype.
• Define system architecture and engineering roadmaps.
• Lead design reviews, assessments and system-level decisions.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, electronic and software activities.
• Establish systems engineering processes and design documentation.
• Define verification strategies and oversee integration and testing.
• Identify risks, constraints and dependencies.
• Provide hands-on leadership to engineers and external partners.
• Communicate progress and priorities to senior stakeholders.
• Help build the engineering capability for future phases.
